Default Ls/B20 head

i have an Ls (b18a1) in my 88 hatch, got the motor from an automatic 91 integra and i've heard that automatic cams are smaller than 5-speed. and also if i put a B20 head on the Ls would it be any faster than my stock Ls?

Not quite. The B18A head has smaller intake ports than the B20. As far as the cams, the B20Z cams are pretty much the same thing as B18B cams. I'm not sure about B20B cams, as they are milder than B20Z cams. But regardless, if you swap on a B20 head with B20Z cams, you will probably gain power. And if you go with a B18B intake manifold as well, gains will be better yet.

Agreeed, but why not throw on the classic b16 head. VTEC with a 2 liter block....throw in stronger sleeves (stock ones on b20b are ****), and bam....you got a low-end monster. Whomp on M3s off the line.

I mean think about it...4300 the power peaks with the B20B. Pure beauty.
