Removing EG hatch spoiler
I'm trying to swap another hatch spoiler onto my spoiler frame. I've already unscrewed the 4 screws. The next part is pulling the spoiler off the frame. Is there a way I can get it off without breaking the clips holding it on?

no clips hold the spoiler so i assume you mean the clips that hold the wire loom together.
just use a small thin flat head screw driver and pull one side out and the other side will come loose...
easy.. no need for a thread in my opinion but there you go...

I guess you have never removed a spoiler before
If you open the rear hatch up, you will notice a clip protruding through the spoiler frame on each side. The same clips help hold the spoiler onto the frame. Reason I'm swapping spoilers is because the spoiler frame has a dent in it and it's a different color than my car.

well maybe its me??, ive sold 2-3 jdm led sir eg6 spoilers and i have never had a problem removing the spoiler ever.. the four bolts come off and then you unclip the 2-3 clips that hold the wire loom to the spoiler . ...done... maybe someone else will chime in...

or maybe your talking about the clips that hold onto the sir two piece spoiler??? but you can still remove the spoiler from the car. and just separate the two pieces of the spoiler.

yea thats what your talking about... just use a small flat head screw driver and stick in the top part of the spoiler ( as you look down) and lift it up just a tad, then at the same time use a needle noise plyer ,and squeeze the plyers on the end of the clip and lift up on the flat head and it will come off ..
ive also done this and if you do it slowly you can take it off..... but those clips are hard to get off also due to the heat they are very brittle....good luck..

I was trying to separate those pieces too so I could paint mine, and I even
took it to a body shop. They could not get them apart because they told me
the pieces were glued together, so you would have to break them apart.
