Anybody running Spoon Cams?
im running Spoon Cams..but then again Im running them b/c they r the most aggressive I can go with a turbo application. Compared to stock ITR cams, there is a noticable difference in mid-range power and top-end power.
However, I wouldnt recommend Spoon Cams if ur goal is to be a high compression monster...although there are a few ppl running Spoon Cams in their car with high output (Ben @ AJR), it would be easier to do if you had JUN III's or Toda C's.
My recommendation would be to go with Spoon Cams if you are sticking with stock or mild compression gains, or if you are debating between Toda A's, JUN II's, etc.

Why are you running cams designed for NA motors on a turbo car?
Have ever heard of valve overlap?
Well..you'd make more power if you had less aggressive cams my man.
The whole purpose of VTEC is to CREATE valve overlap at higher RPM - thus making power in an NA motor....now Spoon cams, Todas, and most of the aftermarket cams for Honda motors are designed for NA applications by making larger lobes and therefore creating more overlap - which is good for a NA motor but a turbocharged motor such as your's doesn't need overlap because the boost pressure is dissipated by going "in one ear and out the other" if you get what I'm sayin'.
Just helpin' out.
Anybody running Spoon Cams? (1 FAST R)
Anybody on this board running Spoon cams? I am thinking about it but would like some feedback... I'm going with either those or Jun 3s.
im running spoon cams on my b18c , there excellent as far reliable and daily driving . also they make good power on my application they made 7-9whp over the ctr/itr cams ! but if you compared with jun3 , jun cams are more aggresive and they will make more power then spoon cams .Spoon cams are excellent cams and I do not regret going with them ,also you should up grade your R valve springs to run itr outters and either ericks racing or portflow inners with some nice ti retainers .and would be able to rev (with ecu re-program ) to 9200 with no worries !

actually, i thoroughly tested CTR cams, GSR cams, ITR cams, Toda A's and Spoon Cams on my car b4 buying the Spoon Cams.
THe cams were borrowed from friends. And with equal tuning, the Spoons garnered the most gains throughout the powerband.

i just recently heard that running the spoon exhaust cam with the stock itr springs, it will give the cam flat spots. even dylan from ff was running itr outers and portflow inners and he still got flat spots. the intake is ok though. i find it rather strange but i thought i would let you know. what kind of racing do you plan on doing? spoons are designed to make more midrange power and top end with out losing bottom end. jun 3 will make more power but at a higher rpm. think wisely about what you want.

What I don't understand is that everyone seems to agree that you can run TODA spec As with the stock springs and their exhaust cam has a greater lift then the Spoon...
Has anyone had problems running Toda spec As with the stock valve springs?

why not try the itr/jun 2 combo? mike k had some nice #s with that combo.

Well that truly sucks! Can anyone else confirm this issue with the exhaust springs?
