Default Question about valvesprings & retainers

I'm considering a very mild engine setup which includes the Jun stage 2 intake cam, ITR exhaust cam combo...

Although Mike K did the cam test with a stock valvetrain, I think i'd feel safer with at least stiffer inner valve springs & titanium retainers..am I wrong? Anyway, I was looking at some sites for pricing on inner springs, something like Portflow.... and basically, everyone sells springs in sets of 16...which I can understand...

Now, say I purchase the Jun racing valve springs for the car...is there a possibility that the springs would be TOO stiff..aka, detrimental rather than helpful in this case?

I'd be staying at stock redline, with JDM ITR pistons, VAFC& FPR, and a nice i/h/e....

Any suggestions, additions, subtractions, or etc?

TIA...

COnsidering that the JUN2 intake cam is just as big as their stage 3 cam
i would definitely get portflow inner springs for the intake side. Ti
retainers are also a good idea. the jun springs are probably not necessary
for what you want to do. Just get yourself another set of ITR outer intake
springs and a set of portflow inner springs and you'll be set.

SGT or Anyone,

How about valve seals? Are there any out there that are better than stock?

Thanks,
John

Thanks SGT....

any thoughts about the JDM valve springs that Mike (IPS racing) has on his site?

JDM ITR 98 Spec Intake Valve Springs (15% stiffer than USDM) - $85

From info in previous posts it has been confirmed that the 2000/2001 USDM R uses different intake valve springs then the USDM predecessors. These new stiffer springs have been used on the JDM Rs sense 1998.

Can anyone confirm that the exhaust springs are the same on all Rs?

Thanks,

The exhaust cam is the same so logic would dictate that the springs are the same
as well.
