Does a resistor box have anything to do with getting spark?
Does a resistor box have anything to do with getting a spark or is it just for the injectors?
I have a 92 DX hatch when I got the car it had a turbo LS and for some reason the guy was running a resistor box. I've since swapped out that LS with a brand new b18b from hmotorsonline with an obd1 GSR harness, (non turbo atm) stock injectors and I'm not getting a spark. Also when you turn the ignition twice (2nd click) you don't hear the fuel. TIA.

No. The resistor box is there to give low impedance injectors the proper resistance so that they will work properly with the ECU that was designed for saturated injectors.

He was probably running 450 DSM injectors and a resistor box which is a typical setup with FI.

Check your engine harness grounds, main engine harness connectors, ECU plugs etc. If the fuel pump isn't priming when you turn the key over then it's either not getting power or possibly the relay is bad. But if it ran before the swap, I'll bet you have a wiring problem somewhere which is causing the fuel pump not to get power and probably the distributor as well, possibly even the ECU.

is there a difference between the obd1 GSR harness and the obd1 LS harness? like function wise for me? I was told using a gsr harness is fine for a LS motor, also say I wanted to go ls/vtec instead of boost would this obd1 GSR harness work fine with a b16 head?

The only differences between them is that the GSR has extra sensor plugs like VTEC solenoid, knock sensor, etc. The other wiring for all other functions is the same for both.
