Default timing belt problem

I was taking my valve cover off today to sandblast it when I dropped a valve cover bolt down by the timing belt.

Is the only way to get to the bolt by taking that plastic shield off? thats a pain in the *** though cause you have to take that huge pully bolt off to get the shield off. Any suggestions on an easier way or is that it?

Thanks

Another option: a long screwdriver with a dab of grease on the end.

I agree, you might as well get an extendable magnet. Mine has come in really handy when I dropped bolts into the smallest, tightest spots.

Only problem with grease on end of screwdriver is getting that grease on the belt. That can't be good
