Buying used ITR cams. Pics inside, help with condition...
I am looking to buy a this set of ITR cams from a friend for a very good price.
How would you guys rate the condition on the cams based on the pics?
Most of the grooves are discoloration of the surface coat. Nothing really catches the nail with the exeption of two small nicks.
Should i buy them?

Condition looks good to me from the pics. The rings your're talking about are the ID rings that honda has on them to tell them apart from other OEM cams. They are ITR spec cams, I know what the rings should look like for all OEM dohc vtec cams. The price seems really good too. I'd buy them if I were you.
I don't know if I'm in the right place for this, but what are they HP increases with the ITR cams? Someone let me know.. I'm looking to get them myself.

good price, but if you cant get a deal on them its better to get something like the skunk 2 stage 1s or something else similar. more power and as much if not less then new OEM Type R cams.
unless you KNOW they came from an ITR i wouldnt say that they aren't ITR's
they look like B17 cams, the rings look the same on the B17A GSR cams, so be weary

Don't freak guys. Here are better, but blury pics.

The exhaust cam has a ring also but looks different to the ring on the intake cam.

Umm.. My concern is the two rings on that lip. I see the ring on the distributor side but those other rings do not show up on the pics above. I will do more research before I buyy them.
Here is a pic next to a know GSR cam. The "Lip" with the two rings is the same but the top cam has that "ITR" ring on it. Could this be a fake?. I will try to measure the Vtec lobe to see if there is a difference.

I will not be buying these. Something just does not add up. The protryding ring does not look the same as R cams. They king of look like b16 cams with different protruding ring.

Sorry 3 South, I got the ID rings mixed up, and messed up telling you they were ITR's.
They have 3 rings and are GSR spec cams. Sorry if I confused anyone else.
Good thread guys

Unfortunately not, B16 cams are the smallest OEM cams available, CTR Cams are the biggest. The CTR exhaust cam is exactly the same as the ITR exhaust cam. But the CTR intake has 3 degrees more overlap than the ITR intake cam, making it a little bit better.
