I have a '96 Accord LX sedan, and it has some kind of engine gremlin going on right now. It doesn't run funny or anything, but gas mileage has been decreasing a bit lately. Anyway, here's the problem: I pulled out one of the spark plug wires (second one from the right, when you are facing the engine bay), and the plastic part that connects to the plug was covered in oil. I idled the car with the oil cap open, and it exhibits no signs of excessive blowby; I have been checking the oil levels frequently, and there is no sign of a leak or oil consumption. After wiping off the plug wire and cleaning out the oil from the area around the plug, the oil will repeatedly reaccumulate. What could be going on with my car?

thanks. replacing the valve cover gasket is easy enough, but what do i need to do to replace the plug tube seals? does that require pulling the head? or can i do it with just the valve cover off?
if the problem is still there after you replace the upper tube seals you will need to replace the lower tube seals.
I dont think thats causing you fuel problem b/c you say the engine is running fine.
simplist things first. start with tire pressure
