Is it possible to take off and/or put on a new adjustment screw/hat on the damper if its missing? for example, can i take off one adjustment **** and put it on another to temporarily set the damper until i can get a new one?

 

You could use an alen key if you wanted, just stick it on the top of one with the adjusting **** so you can determine how many degrees turned is equal to a "click". I did it when i broke an adjusting **** waiting for my replacement and it worked fine.

 

so youre saying that it wont click without the adjustment **** being on there?

 

yes, it wont click. the clicking is coming from the ****/hat there are little holes and a bump on the bottom of the **** so when you turn it it "clicks" into the next slot.
