Default loud exhaust

i know alot of guys, and gals like a certain look or sound of a loud exhaust..but after installing the blower..its louder than i would like..the cops too..so is there a muffler out there that wont restrict flow but yet lower the exhaust noise level?..ive heard of the greddy and apexi dunk..do they work or is it all hype and marketing??..how about a longer resonator??..dont need to be attracting more attention from the noise policeman

I have 2 friends with magnaflow mufflers. They are both street series and really quiet. There is even an optional silencer.

No they are both bolt on del sols. One has a B16a and the other has a d16. I would assume your exhaust would be quieter with a s/c though. Try picking up a cat-back with a silencer. That'll be worth it when you want to hear it and when you'd like it quiet. I have a trm with a test pipe and the silencer is gold on long trips.

i have an apexi cat back and i would not recomend it. I heard that the ES Tuning muffler was preaty quit and only cost about $100...i think. I am also looking for a quiter muffler, as soon as i find someone to buy my dunk ill give the ES muffler a try.

Get custom 2.5" or 3" piping on the muffler you have now that will quiet it down alot..

later..

do u have forced air?..i didnt spend alot of money on custom piping to negate the exhaust flow with a restrictive muffler..they advirtise the muffler as..what a honda muffler should look like..but does it perfor as stock or hiflow?

I have the Greddy SP on my del Sol VTEC and I love the sound of it. I had a very loud custom catback setup on my previous car and it drove me nuts. The Greddy has a very nice note and sound for everyday driving. I'm not sure how it would sound on a forced inducted car.

unless you got hook ups.. good luck finding an RS*R you cant get them anymore I think Racing beat stopped importing them a few yrs ago.. I had a Greddy SP before it was pretty queit.. much quieter than my friends Tanabe G power, Apexi N1, and Thermal R&D, another friend had a Stromung that was loud as hell too.. i think the Apexi World Sport is kinda like teh Greddy SP in terms of noise.. their both not very loud.. but the twin loops are even quieter...

yeah mugen is expensive $975 (www.kingmotorsports.com) i think their the only distributor...

hehe happy 2002 = )
