which ecu gets better mpg p06 or p28?
The ECU that was designed for the motor you're running will probably yield the best mileage. Honda engineers did have their heads on straight when designing the cars. All this is negated if you have a tuneable ECU, and in that case, any ECU that is able to properly control your motor can be tuned to optimal gas mileage.
The P28 ECU will yeald a better MPg. if ur running a nonchipped p06 its probably hurting your motor more than its helping. by hurting i dont mean its detonating or runnning lower oil pressure. its just hurting the performance of the motor.
Honda may the p28 on the z6 for a reason. so i wouldnt backstab honda on that one. there pretty damn smart

thanks for the replys. the reason i ask is because i brought the car with a p06 ecu and i'm geting 220 miles out of it. how much should i expect to pay for a virgin p28? thanks in advance.

I'm stumped on why it would have that ecu... thats odd... P28 for the Z6 should yeild near factory MPG... search for it...

Im guessing its has that ecu because whoever sold the car, needed the ecu for another.
ie. z6/y8 into an ef or a non-si civic, eg/ek.
*edit*
I agree with the others that the p28 would give you better mileage.
You never know, it could be a hacked p06 thats vtec capable. Does the car feel like it has the vtec working or not?
