JGTC on SpeedTV
They better get it on before NASCRAP season starts, or else every minute of air time will be eaten up by NASCAR practice, NASCAR qualifying, NASCAR happy hour, NASCAR twin 125s, The 500, 500 highlights, 500 recap, 500 roundtable, BCBS 24/7, NASCAR Legends of Daytona,...and so on.
I miss the old Speedvision sooooo much!

The really sad part is there are so many that you left out, and look how long the list already is.
You think they would look at in as a list as say "wow, we do have to much nascrap on the schedule"!
<--- misses it too!

I don't see what the big deal is. Before it became Speed Channel, there was still the same amount of road racing, its just that instead of NASCAR, there was tons of boats and planes crap.

AND a lot more motorcycle racing, which is hardly ever on anymore.

Yeah man, I miss those crazy boats they run in New Zealand...The ones that turn on a dime and always crash up onto land.

There was more road racing, and more importantly, a lot of it was shown during prime time. I miss the tons of boats and planes crap too. Watching and hour of lawnmower racing beats a NASCAR overdose any day!

I agree with Sean. I was really worried when the announcement was made a few years ago. There were all sorts of rumors that the new owners (Fox) would eventually can everything not NASCAR related and that they had no intention of keeping any of the previous stuff.
But a year later I wrote them a letter thanking them for their great programing.
They actually added stuff and as sean said they got rid of the "planes and boats" crap.
In their first season they added DTM, BTCC, ETCC, JGTC, FIA Sports cars and some exciting racing in F3000.
Last season they added British F3, British FIA GT Series, Porsche Supercup, British Porsche Supercup, and Aussie V8 Super cars.
Some of these are watered down versions of the real broadcast (1 hour or less) but it does give some of us European fans the chance to see some of the overseas action.
In addition I actually started watching some NASCAR when the bought Speed. I was never a NASCAR fan mostly due to the drivers. Fat Old Hicks who could barely fit into the car and all spoke like .............well you get the idea.
But that has changed. The new talent is making NASCAR worth watching. Guys like Jimmie Johnson, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, and others are not the traditional born on a tobacco farm drivers.
Hell I even have become a fan of the truck series. Before you knock it, watch it. The best racing (and the closest) is in the Craftsman Truck Series.
Will I watch NASCAR over F1, or sports cars? No way, but if nothing else is on, it sure beats watching the Pro Bowling Tour or golf.
As much as most here would hate to admit it, but Speedvision was doomed without Fox's help. The economics of TV would have eventually killed a good idea because the costs involved to produce the stuff we liked on Speed (before Fox) would not have brought in enough advertising revenue to support the channel.
Fox and NASCAR saved Speedvision from going down the tube (pardon the pun).

My Saturday

Formula One Australian Grand Prix 9:30PM
Sweet now I have something to do Sunday. Like getting out from in front of the TV is useful.

There was a short take on JGTC USA last Sunday on Spike TV. May have been on the Car&Driver TV program. Not bad, they showed the winners and had details about the cars, costs, and short clips from the races, but not the actual race itself. Even showed some of the drifting. thanks for the info tyson.

Don't get speed channel. JGTC would love to watch; guess I have to pay for speed.
I do agree that without fox's money the speed channel would have gone to the outhouse long ago. I can stand some nascar, maybe 5 minutes worth lol.
I remember watching some F1 on fx last year, but they usually only showed the racing no pre qualifying.

I didn't mind watching the NASCAR Bush qualifying in Mexico yesterday in between Grand Am Cup and Rolex. It was good to see a local hot shoe take the poll even over the likes of favorites like Boris Said etc...
It was his first Bush race ever. I think he was like the seventh person to ever do that. The only two NASCAR races I watch are Infineon and The Glen.

nah, i got no complaints. its really not like it was much different than a nopi event in some sense. they showed the main event and they showed all the other stuff going on, which is good. it was better they cut in and out of the race commentary. all the talk about girls was rather redundant when they kept showing the same girls.... anyone catch the cut shot of andy's crash?
but whatever. the only thing i was annoyed with was the damn greddy commercial... some pimple faced korean kid and a japanese dude lost in translation? yeah, they definately were seeking a certain demographic with that commercial.

i agree. i wished they wouldve shown the race in its entirety.. it was soo awesome live. the britsh guy was ok cause he knows what hes talking about. but the the girl from nopituner vision
