Sounds like you have a bad ball joint.

I say lower ball joint/s. In my experience, cv-joints dont normally squeak, they make a horrible 'clicking' noise when you are on the gas while turning. If the front end squeaks when you are not moving, and you just turn the steering wheel side to side, then that is your ball joints...but their are lower and upper ball-joints.It is most often lower ball joints that go bad. You can check your CV boots, and if they are not torn then that pretty much eliminates your CV joints. I hope this is of some help to you, good-luck.

They are around $40 a piece. Like wilohio said, they are a pain to replace. You are better off taking this to a dealer, where they will check which ball joint it is (upper or lower) and they have the proper tools to remove it (ball-joint puller or air hammer). Their are ways to remove them without these tools but it's definitely not easy. Call your local dealer and see how much they charge to do it, that's your best bet. If you have to do it yourself, let me know and I can tell you how. Later!
