car runs like crap after JG cam install
i have an 88 dx and i just put a fairly mild jg cam in it and now it won't run good at all, it;'s slower than it was before the cam, i've tried the timing in every possible position, any ideas what i should try next? Could it all just be the spacing between the cam and the spring lifters, i did them pretty tight, just enought so that they don't click, i used like .005 for intake and exhaust? any ideas appreciated!
When I had my JG cam installed years ago, it ran sh*tty too, until I had it dyno tuned the day after at JG and it ran so damn good. So I suggest you do get some/ or a cam gear and get those adjusted soon or you'll be dissapointed with those JG cams. Good Luck!
hey "3rdGteg" how was the idle on your cam, did you have to get up in the rpms to tune it cause my idle get's no better no matter how i adjust it. i have a skunk 2 cam gear on there now.
My car idled very low when I first had them on. Sometimes it dies (well alot of time), it made my car run so weak. I didn't do any of the adjustments on those cams myself, I had JG tune it on the dyno for me; it ran hella strong afterwards. If you have access to a dyno get it done believe me it's worth it with them cams. It's even better if you can take it to JG since they'll know exactly where those cam makes power.
