Default missed a gear.... compression test results

i missed a gear yesterday and the car over reved. it was the first time i have ever done that to this motor. i guess i shouldn't be playing around anymore.

anyways...i was a little worried cause my rpms went above 9k on a stock bottom jdm gsr motor. when i got home, the car wasn't acting any different and it drove home just fine. idle was still the same, idling at 1k and no idle jumping around. temp stayed the same as usual, no smoke out the exhaust, no knocking, oil pressure was reding perfect at idle.

i went a head and did a compression test today and i got 210 across the board.

so everything should be fine right? is there anything else i should do?

thanks

you're fine, you'd know if something bad had happened by now but you've certainly checked all the other things that you would have needed to check.

Yeah, sounds like it's good to me. You shouldnt run into any problems. It's not like it's a normal thing, just once shouldnt hurt it.

10k from 9k is a huge jump...damage wise.

But it sounds like youre alright...watch for smoke.

Watch for smoke and get rid of that ECU if you don't need it

When I had tranny issues before somtimes it'd lock me out of third gear totally at random and I'd easily hit over 9500rpm on a 1005 bone stock B18C5 engine - still runs absolutely perfectly after 3.5-4 years of hard driving and misshifts.

I can't explain why some people get lucky numerous times and others blow **** up their first mistake.

Also mechanical overevs as in grabbing the wrong gear are what really destroy ****. Mis-shifts are not as bad because there's not much load to it like when shifting say, from 3rd back into second when you meant to grab 4th gear.

if you dont here any knocking from the motor, its fine. Knocking noise usually comes from the head.
