i posted this in the Type R forum, so heres the situation..i recently came into some money and am deciding to build my car to run 12's...I dont want turbo because they are hard to maintain...so i was thinking about JRSC..i need plenty of suggestions on a good setup..thanx
you could throw a 80 shot of nos run a set of slicks and you'll do 12's. superchargers arent' worht the money spent. turbos are the best way to go imo. take a drive in a turbo car and you'll never look back at anything again.
yeah it takes some work to do 12's with an ITR... I'd say go all motor. I've seen it done before... I assume the jrsc will make getting there a lil easier, BUT it will still be hard... high compression needs to be taken care of but I assume doing that will be enough to turbo the B18C5 safely. that would probably the easiest and simplest route towards 12's in an ITR.
Well I know you dont like turbo but..........
I have
00 Type R
Drag Gen III Turbo Kit
Hondata standalone ecu
stock block w/ headgasket to lower compression
and all the other generic turbo things.... 3"exhaust, boost controller etc.
I ran high 12's on street tires!
No offense I am not a fan of JRSC
They are pretty weak.
I have had no problems with my turbo setup. Just my $.02

yeah go ahead and ask him how much he spent on his car to run that 12.9, with that much $$ he could have been in mid 11's with turbo
yeah everyone knows mustang GT will run 10's, thanks to that kick *** 5.0. He didn't ask for your opinion on what the Type R was made for, he asked how to get it into 12's. to hit 12's... n/a= the most money, jrsc is next, then turbo, then nitrous....

12's in an ITR is pretty simple.. direct port 100 shot, rods, pistons, IHE, id say use a CAI, a header w/ a 2.5 inch collector, and maybe even leave the exhaust stock but get a high flow cat.. and 500 for some slicks and if you can drive you should break 12's.. then you would probably want an AFC and cams and you would be looking at about 4k dollars...
seriously if you want to be ***** to the walls fast you can only accomplish that with a turbo.. and youd be suprised how much more simple turbo is then NA.. just do a turbo kit w/ hondata and a lower compression headgasket... youll haul ***

i ran 100 shot on my b18c5 FUULLLLL STOCK only msd whit blaster coil,
made 13.7@109.5mph my ET was not good cuz i had no slick(195.50.15 yokohama 520) and i didint press juice on first gears but look at trap speed!!!could do easy 12.5 on slick
ran 75 shot all summer whit no prob the key is tuning and ignition upgrade(a must when nos)
that was on my civic ex coupe 2000 full int!!
so conclusion a itr and a civic ex whit c5 has almost same weight maybe 10 killo diffence so yes itr whit 100 shot whit msd can do easy 12 midle!!!!!
