question about 5th gens
im lookin at a 97 lude for gf. its an automatic. but it has a spoiler. could it be a sport shift or an SH or both? fill me in, i know nothing about 5th gens. except they are way slower than 4th gen VTEC's. just kiddin i guess you could say im biased.
5th Gen is not way slower than the 4th. Well, if you have an automatic, its way slower than a Civic Si, but if you have a 5spd, with a good driver, its a close race.
it's ridiculous how overblown this whole 4th gen vs 5th gen contest is and which is faster and which is not. how many of you have actually raced the other generation prelude and not basing your point on what you've read or heard from someone else??? i've lost to 4th gen VTEC's and i've also won against them in my prelude SH, so who's to say? i've seen it go both ways.

dang people i was just kiddin about the 4th gen being faster. i just was saying that to convince myself that my gf isnt goin to have a faster car. i went and looked at it today, its a base model with the sportshift, its pretty sweet though. black with a spoiler and alot of goodies, it has 71k on the clock and we are gettin it for 11k. btw are those little black square things (on in middle of back glass, and other above drivers window) part of the acoustic feedback system? thats the only thing i could figure out.
That is a brake light. It's useless now that you have a spoiler (since the brake light is now on the spoiler). It's only $60 or so to get an SH rear deck if you want to get rid of it. Or you can just take it off and glue some felt over the hole.
not to sound rude but i know what a brake light looks like. it was not a brake light and for arguments sake if it was a brake light in the back then what is the one above the drivers window? a turn signal?
I've raced 4th Gens as well as my 5th gen and you can immediately feel the lightness of the 4th Gen. My 5th gen feels like a lead weight compared to it. The 4th Gens are just more nimble and tinny feeling, they feel more like a GSR.
I think the honda challenge puts it into perpective.
the 5th gen prelude VTEC is in a lower class then the 4th gen prelude VTEC. the 5th gen competes against prelude SI's (160 HP) and prelude S (135)
haha.
Another problem with 5th gens is the ECU. Good luck trying to make HP with bolt ons....

Sorry, but I have beaten a 5th gen Prelude, no problems. Aren't Preludes slow in general? He he he...
I'm sick of everyone thinking Type-R's are the best sports car in the world..comon, every car has its pros and cons.
By the way, I don't own a Type-R, if you noticed. I definately don't think the Type-R is the best sports car in the world. The best sports car in the world is a GS-R, you should know that.
