A question for Type R Folks with Koni Yellow shocks.
I just got these shocks for my civic (with itr suspension.) I wanted to know how you guys liked them. I also have a few questions.
Okay adjustable perches.
On the front I have 2 choices for them. I put them to the lower setting.
In the rear there aren't any other choices except for the one it came on right? I don't see any other place for the metal tab to go to.
Also how in the world do you adjust the rear shocks dampness. I just can't figure it out. The fronts are a snap, but the rear I don't know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Koni does not make a shock setup for the Type R, believe it or not. You can get fronts, and apparently you can do some mods to the ones made for CRXs, but at that point most people get Tiens or some other coilover. I had yellows on my GS-R, the ones i got came from neuspeed, and apparently the neuspeed ones have more perch grooves...mine had 5 each, with the middle being "stock" and two more grooves at about .6 inches each, up or down. All four of mine used the same "firm" ****, which you moved from shock to shock...and they would turn 720 degrees from most soft to most firm (two rotations). Dunno if that helps at all, might just confuse things.
I know a lot of people don't make shocks for the ITR. But I believe Koni does make shocks for the ITR now. I know you can put 88 crx si shocks on to ITR LCA's (not modification is necessary), but I believe Koni does makes shocks for the ITR now. The application when I ordered the shocks was for the ITR, and I looked at the 88 CRX Si part # from Koni and it's different from the ITR rear shock part #.
Anyways. I hope some more people have input on this.

sounds like what you have is the ones for the 88 crx. Although the part #'s are different it is the same I believe. On the crx ones you also cannot adjust perch height and to adjust firmess they actually have to be removed from the car.
the part# for the rear on ITR and 88 crx is 8040-1078 sport. I asked Koni at the SEMA show if they were ever going to make a specific shock for the ITR and they said no, that the CRX one was almost perfect and they didn't have enough demand to design a specific externally adjustable model for it.
To adjust the rear the shock must be out of the car. You have to fully push in the piston rod of the shock until it sits in the notch inside(kind of like a flat head screwdriver) you can't see it, but you will feel it. Then you turn the shock body while holding in the piston rod clockwise or counter clockwise. It is marked near the bottom of the shock with and arrow + or -
It should say in the instructions also. You know you have it pushed in right if you can only turn the shock body 2 turns from lock to lock. I set mine just about 1.25 turns from full soft, or .75 turns from full firm.

YES all 4 are on top adjustable. The brand KW coilover suspension (very common here) is using Koni dampers and the new generation is almost adjustable on the top.
