I read it in a post on HMT, the guy said that ppl did it all the time.... is that true, is
it easy and how do you do it? im not a a dumb noob, I know stuff. I just
needed this question answered, since this site is mainly honda.
I need to swap my ls tranny out and get a gsr tranny, its fucked up. just worried
about the 5th gear on the freeway with the gsr, its gonna be at about 4k rpms
going 60mph. Im boosted also, its gonna kill gas.

Yup, it can be done. If your hands-on skills are anything like your grammar, I'd suggest letting a tranny shop do the work.
I doubt it would be expensive as it is not too labor intensive, however be prepared to spend some money when the shop you take it to has to yank out your trans. You would be better off pulling the trans yourself and dropping it off.
YeA you can do that. Planning on doing it yourself?? There used to be this video floating around that had the process on it. you could stop it and pause and go through all the steps, Pretty neat but who knows what happened to it. I cant believe something like that would dissappear lol.
-of course im gonna take out the tranny myself. Hope it still is affordable though. I'll ask my uncles shop if they know how to do it.
-And damn I wish i can check that video out to see how easy it is.

removing tranny = cake
taking apart and reassembling tranny = HARD.
unless you know how to shim/line up everything properly, DON'T BOTHER! it's easy IF you know how/where everything goes.

much easier (less measuring and clearance checking). IF you know how everything should line up and what to do to insure it does
