Fiber Images cf hood, fits great, here's pics...
I hear a lot of talk that the FI cf hoods for the teg didnt fit too well until they got a new mold this year... I recently got mine and it fits great. Finally took some pictures... Still need to install the rubber piece along the leading edge of the hood, I am thinking of using hi-temp silicone instead of drilling the CF for screws/fasteners. It is a little high along the drivers side fender, but that is also the same fender that has been replaced from my fender bender. If you ever get the chance to get a CF hood thru an accident claim, go for it... I was able to keep almost $200 because my Insurance provider gave me money for an OEM acura hood and for painting costs from an accident where a schmuck ran a redlight. The FI cf hood was about as much as the oem acura hood, but I saved $$$$ by not having any painting costs. cool eh? yah.
wow looks great
All you gotta do is fix that fender side that you were talking about. How bout some more shots of your car? Is that a type R front lip on your car?

isnt there something missing? isnt there supposed to be a black rubber seal between the hood and car? other then that it looks great

Fitment looks great! When did you get rid of your Circuit 8's?
Ah, yes those purdy Circuit 8's with A032R are chillin for the winter... these recently acquied Enkei's are my winter wheels --> come springtime, the bronze C8's go back on the GSR and I sell those Enkei's for another set of C8's for my 92 hatch.
Huge? Its not big (to me) at all, just looks big with the camera angle I chose. I know it isnt a perfect fit but it really is a 98% perfect fit, which was hard to come by with the older cf hoods, just happy they are better nowadays. The cf hood is half as thin as stock, so you can peek into the gap more easily, and of course at the angle I took the pic it looks hideously big. Yeah the drivers side of the cf hood is still a bit high, that is why I mentioned the fender was replaced and may still be able to get adjusted a bit. So here are more shots.... sorry theyre so huge.
I don't know whay you guys are looking at...but that looks really shitty to me....you can see the engine right through the cracks!
I don't think I'd be happy with a hood of that quality either... If I was going to go CF, I'd say screw the $$$ and get one that fits perfect.
i dunno if u stated this earlyer or not but i would most defenetly drill out the hood latch on each hole extend the hole so that u can drop the hood latch a little bit keep going so that it is a nice clean fit no one will ever know that you had to actually drill your latch and you hood will look much better
its a fiber images hood so its defenetly good qwality mine looked exactly the same and also u can play with the bump stops under the hood a little
other than that i kinda like the contrast between the color of the car (whichis nice) and the hood

Let me know how you make out w/ the weather stripping aspect. I'm very interested in doing that also. NOW let's see those Sparco's !!

The weave looks about the same as my old FI one my friend lent to me....
FI still gets the thumbs down from me because of the "raw edges"
Otherwise....they are quite possibly the lightest CF hood out there.....
you win some...you lose some I guess.....
still it looks great on your car!

****, you guys are brutal. I need to scale that pic better or get out my Verniers and measure up the gaps do you have somewhere to reference the sizes. I think it fits great for being a CF hood, and yes as I said before, I STILL HAVE TO PUT THE WEATHER STRIPPING ON. sheeesh.
this freakin pic looks like the same size gap!
Yes, man that is a nice hood, but the frontal pic is super high quality, my picture taking skills are seriously lackin here....
But of course I also see how my CF hood bows up a bit in the middle as it travels along the fender.. remember I have had no super hot sunny days here in alwasy-gray-skies Rochester NY to help change the shape of my hood to fit perfectly.
