Default engine swap on 92 ls

Looking to spend under 3000 for a complete package without installation. This would also need to include shipping if the engine comes from somewhere far away. I want something that would include tranny and any other need items that do not already exist on the car. I know it would bolt up to the existing tranny but I have heard the the LS gear ratio wont work out very well. Somebody had told me about an engine... the name started with an H i think. Or would i be better off with a b18? Also, how hard would the install be with a few people with pretty good knowledge of cars. Thanks for the help.

I'd go for a first gen B16 becuase they came in that car in japan. Gotta love the option of LSD for only 300 bucks!

While the engine is out change the clutch, waterpump and inspect all the hoses and belts.

Add intake/header/exhaust and that should be within your $3000 budget.
