Default TDC Sensor error code 8

Hi, 1990 Accord LX 2.2L is giving off error code 8. Starts after 6 or 7 cranks and pops up CEL. Turn it off, then back on again, usually starts right back up with no CEL. Also winds up real high on the tach before it shifts, and if you hold the accelerator down too far it will reach a point and start cutting off until you let off. From what I am reading, the TDC sensor is inside the distributor and I will have to replace the whole thing. Correct? Also, has anyone replaced components before on the TCM? I have a flashing S light and when I took apart the TCM, there was a burnt fuse in the bottom right corner. I'm pretty good with a soldering iron...any idea where to get the part...Radio Shack? Thanks for all the help. Jere

Just picked up some new resistors from Radio Shack. I'll let you know if swapping them out will work or if I have to replace the whole thing. I haven't seen any input about the error code 8 yet. Does anyone know if this is one of the internal sensors in the distributor that requires the entire thing to be replaced? Thanks again

i read somewhere in a thread a long time ago that it requires complete replacement, but again, try your fix, see if it works, if thats the case you can perhaps make a kit for people to purchase...make a few buckaroo's off it!
