Default Strange vafc problem...

Ok. 98 typer ecu i spliced and connected the rpm signal wire and it move only a small amount to almost 2000 rpm even when im at 6 checked connections all is good. I changed the wire to see if maybe it was a bad wire and not that either. So for fun i connected it to the distributor to get a tach signal and it worked. Could the apexi manual be wrong in where the tach signal is? What color is everyones tach wire in their cars, mines yellow. Can some please help help. It is alright to connect it to the distributor ?? Id rather connect it to the ecu but i need help to locate the problem.

The ICM wire at the ECU should be yellow with green stripe.

Make sure the settings in the afc are correct.

Thanks man. I figured out the problem. I guess it was too late when i was connected the wires and i was so frustrated that i grabbed the wrong one even though i knew what the right one was! Using the default setting on the vafc after you set all the information in the etc. menu is fine right. That is your stock settings right??
