Default fully built gsr head on a stock b20... possible????




Hello,

I am building a fully built head 1996 GSR ( skunk 2 stage 2 cams and jg 6 point adjustable cam gears, block is port and polished and have new black kevlar valves and valve spings, retainers and locks.)

Can I put a fully bult head on a stock b20.... will it bend my valves???
Do I have to get some pistons to make this work???
please help need info...

this is a on going debate in the shops....

valves made out of kevlar?lol or is that the company name...

you should just clay the motor for insurance. you may bump valves alittle and have to open the valve reliefs on the pistons

the best bet is to clay the motor thats the only way to really tell or use a little thciker gasket like .054" thickness unit it will drop the compression a tad but it will give you little extra room

I really apprecite the help.... seriously.. I already blew a b20 and so now i'm buying another one and I don't want to make the same mistake....
