i just recenlty came up with some money, and i have decided to TRY to make a 12 sec TYPE R...I need all legitamate suggestions please...i need help from the H-T member...Thx
How much horsepower would it take? I'm guessing around 275-300. So something like a turbo that gets you 40-50% more power should do it. Slicks wont hurt either.

well i'll say this..i dont want to go turbo, because i cant maintain it..so i was thinking JRSC
DRAG Gen 3 turbo, is all you need, you'll probably will be running, 13.1, but with some tweaks, maybe high 12's. You could go the route I'm trying (after the car is paid off), $7500 custom turbo fully built motor, lower compression pistons, Iron sleeves, titamium everything, hey man the works. I'll be running like 20 - 30 psi.
But hey enjoy the car all-motor now, Auto cross alittle and enjoy it stock. Cause when you get the turbo bye-bye auto cross and mountains (the turbo comes on hard , may throw you off a cliff)

Talk to TurboR616 and TurboR.. or sgT, or Lip, etc.
for under $1000 I can make a ITR run 12's easy.
Nos (80 shot single fogger dry) + slicks.
Really simple.
Really cheap.

Yea ask incognito also for info if your going all motor, he has a 12 second type r.. to see what he has go here : https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=108912
Well you can ask all the people hear who have run 12's and all the members of H/T will tell you it will take a lot of money, time, and money...etc....all in all your money, your choice...in my opinion keep it simple..do your home work...and take things slow...trust me...<---been down the F/I and doing the N/A....98 ITR...4 blown motors on F/I....going on #2 w/ N/A...you also have to think about other options such as reliability...also if you want any daily use...what reliable mechanics and dyno is around you....yes some F/I and N/A guys here on the board drive their 12 sec or lower vehicles everyday...but guess what...they did their time <their home work, their sets of pistons, motors, etc.> and learned things themselves on tuning, building....so like I said...it's good to be ambitious about it...but take your time...no need to start butchering a reliable and stock R....BTW my R is a 98 and only has 35K...I think since I've been a member on the boards I've driven her like 5K and blown 2 motors
....
oh yeah...anybody else want to share a story too

Easy route: what Bone said. juice and slicks.
Hard route: all motor.
I'd go w/ a 2 liter block
12:1 or higher
Toda Spec A or JUN2 cams
SMSP header
Hondata
ATS 4.92 FD
tuning and weight reduction.
you'll **** on almost any car on the street.
