Default H22a tops out at 115!?!

Hey guys,
I met one dude today at a gas station, he had a 95 accord ex with H22a swap (tranny and motor) he had some work done to the motor as well, basic bolt ons, i/h/e, cams, pulleys, some minor internal compression work, basically his car ran 14.4 all motor, and he said that his car tops out at 115! No limiter! Just tops out! cant go any further... he also said that all of the H22a's accords usually top out somewhere there at 115-120? Is that true? How come stock H22a ludes go up to 125+. if its the same tranny, motor, ecu, and weight +-300lbs then how come accords top out at 115 with H22? Do you think its just HIS car that tops out at 115?

you spoke with an idiot.......................

the F22 tranny will run to 200 mph if the car did not have serious weight and drag issues, I have had mine to 130 mph on track

we have had our H22 Prelude to right over 150 mph

I have no idea why his car would do that unless he was BS-ing you to try to get you to race

Maybe because of some really low gearing? I know my integra will only go 127... but thats in 5th gear and at 6k RPM's.

"theoretically" the H22 (using a USDM or JDM standard ratio box) would top out around an indicated 160 +/-. assuming no other variables (increased rev range, Cd, horsepower, ACTUAL drive ratios, etc.)

Aerodynamic drag is also a major factor...

He obviously doesnt have a drag setup running only a 14.4 so he's full of ****. I've had my Accord (F22a) at 145 before I backed off (almost **** myself )

Whoever this guy is, hes majorly bs'ing you My car with H22 and an H23 tranny tops out in mid 4th gear around 120 only because of a speed limiter. I have a friend with a 4th gen accord with H22 and H22 tranny and hes gone to 150ish. I used to have a vid from H22a.org where an h22 in a 4th gen with f22 tranny did 170+ on a dyno.

I topped the fat lady out at around 120mph with the F22b1 and an auto tranny that was stock with probably a short ram intake.

My old H22A Accord topped out @ 120mph. That was because the speed govenor would kick in @ 190kmh. After I installed my Fields VTEC Controller, all the problems when away. 146mph is the fastest that I've gone in my accord.
