Default B16a2 Woes

I swaped in a 00 B16 here last Christmas into my 96 DX. Clutch was slipping horribly, and within 3mos the 5th gear synchros where shot, 3rd follow soon after. Transmission in going in for an overhall in January, the lastest problem though I was looking for some feedback from some of you guys.

The motor has been burning about a qt of oil a month since I installed it, but lately it started with what felt like a slight loss in power. I blew it off thinking it was me getting used to the cars new found power. Then I started noticing a "blow-off valve like sound" when I left of throttle at high rpms (ie. shifting), now under a load, i hear what sounds like a major vacuum or air leak. Inspection shows excessive oil buildup near exhaust side, front of engine. I am believing that the head gasket is leaking and I am loosing compression to the atmosphere. Oh and power has dropped off considerably. I am off the rest of the week, so I plan to perform a compression test probably Wed.

Just looking for some other opinions.

I just started rebuilding my b16. I had recently added new valve seals and some other stuff to the head. I dynod it and noticed I lost tremendous power from about a year previous to that. My power curve looked good, compression numbers were ok i guess, but when I removed the oil fill cap I had a lot of blow by. My rings were shot. I was also burning oil pretty badly.

we all know u know what ur doin, and u know like i do that theres compresion getting out somewhere, i feel a leakdown test will reveal all the problems,
what kinda miles on that engine?
