Is there a slot for a key on the 6th gens like there is the 5th? Ours we can just stick our key in it and it goes back to green.

I think it's something like this:

1. Put key in ignition but don't turn it.
2. Hold in the trip meter reset button.
3. KEEP HOLDING IN THE RESET BUTTON, and turn the key to the on position and KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTON DOWN until the light turns off. Should just be a couple seconds. I'm not sure if you actually have to start the car.

If this doesn't work, let me know. My dad has a 6th gen, but it's too damn cold to go outside and get the manual right now...
