I'm assuming by Si head you mean the B16A2 head from a 2000 SI.
The tranny that would be best would be the one you want to deal with. The best, I suppose, would be a newer CTR/ITR hydro tranny. But then you have to deal with the fact that the tranny is hydrolic and the CRX is cable driven.
That would be the "best" except for the fact it's very expensive, would need to be shipped, and be a pain in the *** to work with. A cheaper route would be a tranny from a 1st gen B16. It's cable driven and has a very responsive gear ratio. The only bad part about those is there's a good 70% chance you'll get it grinds because of their age. You may want to then rebuild it. If you're lucky enough to find one in good condition or already rebuilt then... well... you're lucky and we're all jealous.
You could also get a GSR tranny but you'll still have the problem of the hydro clutch. It's up to you.
If it's a tranny for a b-series, you can use it. Find one that best suits your capability and needs.
As for head/block preparation your main concern should be to rebuild the block. The B20 is not made to go to the high RPM level that the head is designed for. I believe the b20 is pushing 6500RPM, while a B18C or B16A2 head was mated with a block that could hande 9200RPM. You go over 8000RPM a couple times with a stock b20... it's all over.

the tranny i would use with that set up would be a j1 they are easy to find and the have a real good final drive <good 4 getting out of the hole>but your top speed will suffer..that or a ys1 (good luck finding one of those 4 the low low)
get a J1, but like EUMORIA said good luck finding one that does not grind. Of course you can change the cable into the hydro tranny but it will cost more. IMO you should spend your money on strengthing your block. Get it sleeved. I am heard bad things about B20 cracking. I have never used one so I do NOT know from first hand exp. but I have heard many horror stories. Head upgrades, IMO I would use the Ferrea valve train. Cams depends on what you want your motor to be NA or Turbo. Well, good luck with your build.
