Default How light can it get?

I'm thinking off weight this winter, and specificallly how to lose it. This isn't one of those "tell me what I can rip out threads". Instead, I'm curious about how light an ITR can get if taken to the extreme. Let's say track only car (track days) with cage..

What is the weight of some R's out there without driver?

Jonathan,

Look up Mike K's old post... I don't have the link anymore, but he got it down to ~2,000 w/o the driver in it. He listed all the items he took out... and, it was still a safe & practical car to drive. I hope that helps.

I'd imagine if you were to go real extreme, pull out all interior panels, perhaps make a custom lightweigh dash, remove all A/C components, p/s stuff, all the SRS airbag stuff you could get the car pretty lightweight.

Sean, thanks for the reminder - I had forgotten about that thread... I'll see if I can dig it up.

What group are you going to run in, some have min weights...
If your doing HPDEs then just make sure your car is safe- who cares about weight

For track days only - so yes, you are correct, safety is first -but I still care about weight.
I'm interested in what people have their car's weight down to in a safe (but light) track day car (not a full race prep DC2, although 1,880 lbs sounds insane... )
