how else would the ecu know when to turn on the fan?

based on that j00 should get a new swtich......or j00r water temp never goes above 93deg C....which doesn't seem likely unless you have a very big radiator and it's cold out and you don't wait long enough.

reading owns me...

if the fan turns on when the switch is shorted then the rest of the system works, which should narrow it down to the switch itself, no?

do you have an aftermarket radiator?

and are j00 sure j00're waiting long enough for the water temp to go up to the switch-closed-temp?

Don't run the heater, it's just a heat exchanger and it's dissipating the engine heat, which is the opposite of what you're trying to achieve here.

test the socket where the relay plugs in, in the engine compartment fuse/relay panel. I had the same problem and it turned out to be that. To fix it I just ran the fan to a manual switch, and have not had a problem since,

I am fairly sure there should be a fuse of some sort probobly located in fuse panel under the hood?

if it doesnt over heat then dont worry about it

it might not be hot enought for the fan to kick in
