i have a f22a1 in my 94 lx and i got a f22b head from a 95 ex , can i do a head swap and what parts do i need to do it ? and is the f22b head vtec some friends told me yes and some said only the f23 is vtec is that true ?

 

It is the V-tec, not too sure on the parts you would need I will let someone else tackle that.

 

but the vave cover didnt say vtec on it ? but i was a white or pearl color instead of the black one ?

 

The 94 EX was the only year that the valve cover was black if I remember correctly. If you did infact get a head from a 95 EX then it should be like a light grey color if stock and should have VTEC writen across the valve cover. Also the spark plug tubes should be on the front of the valve cover (nearest the exhaust ports on the head). Are you sure you got it from a 95 EX with a F22B1 SOHC VTEC?

Oh, also. I just read that again and you said you have a F22A1 in your 94 LX? If you do have a 94 LX then you should have a F22B2 SOHC Non-VTEC.

As for a parts list, I'm not real sure. I know it's been done and a write-up was done as well. Search the archives for it. It was done on a 90-93 Accord with a 94-97 VTEC head. The part I can remember right now is the timing belt, can't remember what else needed to be done.

ok, I'm lost. How do you have a F22A1 in your 94 LX? Did you or someone swap it?

 

Yea, the f22a's came in 4th gen accord, correct? If you do have a f22a in a 5th gen, that is strange.
