I just replaced my fuel filter. OMG what bitch that is. The only down side is I did it not realizing I had the new washers I went ahead and used the old ones. Since I'm going to have to do it all over again I have to ask.
The bolt for the line that goes to the engine is the oval one. The one that is CONVIENENTLY shaped in such a manner that a socket won't fit on it. I stuck a 17mm open end wrench on it than used another wrench to turn the 17mm wrech. It worked but I really beat up my hands..
Is there an easier way to tighten and loosen that bitch?

from the description you just mentioned....i think you have to use an open wrench size 19mm on the bottom of your fuel filter. 17mm on the bolt. hope you can picture what i'm saying.

 

There is a socket made to fit the odd shaped bolt. The Snap-on tool distributers sell the sockets for $24.50. Hope this helps.
