Gen 3 Integra GSR ABS Removal
So after a bit of research I am ready to jump in to remove my terrible ABS from my ITS GSR. Here is the list of parts and directions I think need to happen. If anyone has done this please chime in as I have not done it yet, but getting ready to pull the trigger!
The way I understand the rule book, this approach is a legal approach in IT.
Parts Needed from a 1994/1995 Integra 3 DR RS
- Front Left metal brake line from flex lines to prop valve
- Front Right metal brake line from flex lines to prop valve
- Both lines that run from the prop valve to the master cylinder
- Prop Valve
Tools:
- Tubing Bender and Flare Tool
- Patience
Facts:
- The GSR master cylinder is different than the RS. The RS has both lines feed from the drivers side of the MC, where the GSR has a line on both sides.
- The rear brake lines do not need modification.
- The front two lines to the flex lines are self explainatory
Where it Gets Messy:
- The two lines out of the valve and to the MC will need to be rebent to fit the GSR MC. This may also require different size fittings, but one could easily enough re-use the ones off the lines you just removed.
Am I missing anything?
Is it good practice to buy all the goods new from Acura or is it ok to buy at the junkyard? Any opinons?

This sounds good, i want 2 do the same thing 2 my Civic...accept all my lines are fine and i just happen to have all integra harnesses in my car, including dash and stuff. I have a mess of wires right behind the passenger headlight, including AC harnesses/ABS/SRS(i think), but the head light, and corner light go into that mess also. Anyone rip out the wiring b4 and still have everything work right? Please give me some info, i can take pictures to describe the mess better if needed.
All the wires with orange plugs on them are for ABS equipment.
All wires in yellow are SRS Equipment
A/C is not that cut and dry!

or unplug it in at the ABS module.
I belive the bore on the MC is diffrent too..

That is what I came up with as well. I have the parts, but don't plan to do this for a while. I am already changing too much on the car over the winter in one shot.

Hmm .. didn't realize that. I am glad you are doing this first.

You could do this, but to my understanding when you pull the fuse the ABS Front/Rear bias is not as good as it is on the RS models that is non-ABS

See above!
Third - You want to get rid of every pound you can on the front of the car and the ABS is suppose to be worth almost 40-50 lbs!

I would just go to http://www.evansautomotive.net and get in touch with Jeff Evans and tell him to pull the lines you need from a non ABS car and ship them to you. Evans Automotive is a Honda salvage yard and they have been very helpful to me. They have over 2000 salvage cars on their lot. Just tell them Lyonel sent you.

i'm assuming that your car is stored during the winter or used less. it would be nice to have abs during the winter, but if it's stored this would probably be a good step forward.

All 98+ Integras have the good 4 channel inline ABS.

I like it, but IT does not.

You sure the later tegs had the same ABS the ITRs did? The ITR system was quite a bit better and lighter than the GSR system. Looks completely different too.
