Default Buying an EG with a lost title?

Hey I was looking around for a shell and found one but the guy has lost the title for the car.. I'm pretty sure the car isn't stolen cuz i checked carfax but i can make sure 100 percent before i buy it...

but yeah, the main problem is the title is lost. I was wondering how would i work around this problem n all the processes

I think there's a way to get a duplicate title from the DMV.

you can't ask the seller to make another title?

I would do some serious research on the VIN and be 110% sure the car is not hot. And also do some research on aquiring a 'salvage' title from the state, make sure this isn't more trouble than it is worth. Good Luck.

lol... If you could 'make' titles I think there would be even more stolen civic threads.

lol. i'm sure the seller cant MAKE a title, but your department of transportation probably can. now, how long that would take to happen is another story.

lost title can be lifted with some work. just ask the seller for any paper work for the vehicle...licence plates/vin# go to your DMV and have the plates run. make sure there isnt a standing warrant for the car.

rule #1
if the seller isnt willing to help you out to make things right and using the holidays as an excuse to get off their *** for the sale...then you want to save yourself time and headache and find another car to purchase.

you can get a new title at the dmv

you and the seller must fill out a paper and the seller has to get it notarized...then you take it to the dmv... and go through the normal registration process and they mail u the title...

just did it myself for my car
