Default ITR head on a b16a2 bottom end

I have have my stock 99 civic si.

I have been debating on what route i should take for my setup.

I have been thinking about either 1) getting s2s2 cams and omnipower valvetrain, getting hondata and getting it tuned. I found out that my stock compression wont work very well with s2s2 so i found out i can do 2) CTR or ITR cams and keeping my stock everything and revlimiter stock, maybe just a VAFC and getting it tuned...therefore i wont have to worry about compression issues and getting it all machined... or 3) today i was thinking i could get an ITR head and just put that straight on my b16...

i know its possible becasue its all b series but i still would to have to get it tuned..and get hondata..but if i choose the third route with the ITR head would that make power or am i just wasting my money

becasue i have started many thread about what i should do and i thought that might work what do u guys think

IMO start out with getting a b18c shortblock with atleast usdm or jdm itr pistons.

The nice thing about buying the head is that it gives a good platform to base your buildup off of. You have a factory ported head, better cams and larger valves. I think to justify buying this head you need to realize what your goals are and go from there. Regardless, it will give you a good platform to build off of.

You will need MUCH more compression to run these cams, and it will be costly to do so.

speaking of platforms, in bare form the b16 head and the itr head are pretty much exactly the same (which you probably know). he wanted skunk2 stg2 cams, so the itr cams would be tossed, as well as the valvetrain. i would only highly recommend the itr head if he did not have a b16a2 head already on there.

another reason why i like the b18c block to start off with. nothing beats more torque and more potential plus the cost factor versus getting more compression for those cams + tuning and everything needed for tuning.

I just had ITR cams and s2 cam gears put in my b16, noticed in on the butt dyno, still hafta go get it tuned.

IMO swap the block for a b18c or stroke it out to 1.8, 1.9L.
The b16 torque curse will haunt you until you do this.
