Default Boosted W/FMU V.S. Boosted W/Hondata, Standalone Reliability

I Tried Searching But I Didn't Find anything that Answered my Question.

I had a H22a Turbo Civic And that setup didn't last due to the fact that something got into the motor.

Im Debating whether I Should go boost again but If i run a Hondata or any standalone. Will it Last?

I have a 01 prelude motor 10.0 Cr, with 30k on it. I want to go boost but i want to daily drive it.

1. Who here has a boosted Car (D/B/H Series) using FMU and How Long have you been running this set up.

2. Who here is running a Standalone of somesort and How long have you been running this set-up.

Also has anyone encountered any Issues with these Setups.

Your Information will be very helpful

That is what i Have Been hearing, The Fmu causes Alot of fuel to be Dumped in the Cylinder causing Increased Injector failure, and Rings to Go out. Not to forget the Weekly Spark Plug Change.

I dunno I want to See If somone has been boosting with a fmu for more than 6 months on any motor.

If i do Go back to boosting again I would Probably Go Hondata.

I was boosting all the time on my stock D16 motor for almost a year with the AEM EMS.. Motor is still perfect and running great..

Basically if you dont have the time and/or money to fix it if it breaks then dont do it..

with the technology and prices of stuff getting better I would always go hondata or even aem. the fmu works but not consistent. like all the others said it will make too much fuel pressure for a injector and is not as precise for fuel delivery. also remember the programmable ecu's are only as good as the tuner. the tuner is the one who can make the motor run well.

Yep.. I get chills thinking about a motor running an air/fuel ratio that is adjusted by a vacuum source and a spring.. Reminds me too much of an anaquaited design like a carb or something..
