Default Help with my 1998 Accord

Over the past few days while driving my Honda Accord it has been acting funny. While I'm driving it and getting to 40MPH it trys to shift (Its automatic) and its having a hard time shifting. I've heard that this might be the fuel injectors. Would anyone here have an idea of what the problem might be?

Some of the auto tranny's had problems for that generation, and this sounds more like tranny than spark plugs. I do not have any links for you, but if you do a search in this forum, you should come across something...

Yup. It's gone. Mine was doing teh same thing. Take it to a dealer though, tell them you're not leaving w/o a free tranny, because the dealerships are REQUIRED to fix tranny problems on 6th gen accords. If they try to make you pay they're scamming you.

I got a BRAND NEW (not refurbished) tranny ordered and installed for FREE.

When I leave my house in the morning I will accelerate and my car will push 3000-4000 RPM's and not accelerate at all. It only happens for a few seconds but it doesn't seem right

Could that fit under that category also?

also, maybe a recall or something. I was told to get a tranny service on it but I want to find out what exactly is wrong with it.

Pay careful attention. Will it go past it's normal shift point and the car will seem to strain, and then all of a sudden shift and move you forward like a rocket? When it gets to that point it's going really bad. You're getting the faint sign of it. At a light, just give it mid throttle. Then at the next light, floor it. See how it reacts differently. Take it to honda and they'll fix the problem..

...all auto accords of the 6th gen are under extended warranty for transmission past the normal warranty period, as well as some TLs and I believe another model as well since they all share faulty transmissions.. I don't appreciate what you said. It happened to me as well, i'm not making this **** up.

One dealer tried to charge another owner here on HT for the tranny and labor for his faulty transmission. I'm telling him to make sure he isnt being scammed by a dealer...
