How do you differentiate between JDM Integra motors?

on the R, the tranny would be stamped with LSD, the valve cover would be red, you can tell on the intake manifolds, obviously different. ummm, the header is different, more tubular and made of SS.

Both the JDM GSR and ITR have "B18C" stamped on the block.
Look at the head and you can tell if it is and ITR or GSR motor. GSR has a "P72" stamp and ITR has a "PR3" stamp.

Both are stamped B18C on the block. USUALLY the transmission will have LSD stamped on it for the ITR motor, however LSD was an option on some SIR-G's. The 98 was the first year that had the nice tubular header, 96 and 97's had a slightly different header (I believe it was a 4-2-1). I'm not going to touch the head stampings...I think the ITR is stamped P73...not totally sure though. You can also look at the intake manifold and tell if it's a SIR-G motor or ITR motor. Either way though, both motors are great.

just narrowing it down.....b18c can either be sir g or type R.....so people say b18cr
hope you get it

all jdm engine do not have numbers are the engine coad gsr's and itrs were both just b18c and all years b16's were just b16a
the visual differance between the gsr and itr motor is that the
itr has a red valve cover and the gsr has a black one
the itr has a single stage im and the gsr im points down which is a dual stage runner
the gsr head is stamped p72 and the itr is pr3
the 98+ itr has the 4-1 header with 2.5 colector
there is no other visual differance from the out side
if you really want to make sure just pull the valve cover and look for rings on the itr cams and paint on the valve springs
