Default Changing the Oil Pan Gasket on 97 Accord

I figured it wasn't going to be much of chore. I got the Haynes manual and seemed quote easy, but time consuming. WRONG! It only says to take off the center beam, and work from there. Well, I got underneath the car, and BAM! the exhaust pipe to the CAT is blocking the oil pan! WTF! That wasn't in the manual! Has anyone attempted to change the gasket on one? It looks as though I'll have to take off the part from the exhaust manifold to the CAT.

umm...you just need to take the downpipe off and beam. You will need to scrape the old gasket of if its baked on. put the new one on with oil and some Honda Bond on the corners where it dips down for the circle on the tranny side. Torque to 9ft-lbs in a cris cross pattern.
