Electrical Gurus. CD Player Install. Wont Turn On. Power Problem
Im wiring up my headunit, just a shitty Blaupunkt.
Ive got all my hardwires for my 4 new speakers all run and connected but I need some help on the power wire
What wire am I tapping for the power for the headunit? Hopesomeone knows the color off hand. Wanna finish this shortly
Thanks
EDIT- The RED/YELLOW from my cars harness has power with the ignition on
From my cd player I have a RED wire labelled IGNITION and a YELLOW wire labelled BATTERY 12+V
Also the WHITE/BLUE wire from my cars harness never seems to have more than 1.16 of power.
Ive had this cd player in my car, but it was stolen and recoverred.
Ive tried different combo's of hooking up the power wire to the red and the yellow from the cd player and the dam thing wont turn on. Ground is also connected no prob

The Red/Yellow will hook to the Red of your Blaupunkt. The White/Blue likely has a blown fuse as that is the Constant power. That will hook to the Yellow from your unit. The fuse for the constant is under the hood and labled backup. Should be a 7.5 amp fuse.
Ya I just wired it like that, but dont know where the "backup" fuse is to check if its blown. Would that cause it not to turn on even with the power from the yellow/red with teh car on?
Blue/White -> Yellow
Red/Yellow -> Red
But like I said, the blue/white is supposed to be constant power right? Maybe I blew the fuse?
With the car turned on the red/yellow is throwing like 14volts, but I still cant get the cd player to turn on, would the blue/white blown fuse cause that?
I gotta buy some fuses then. I couldnt find the "backup" fuse in my fuse box under the hood. Where is it?
THanks

under the dash theres usually come backup fuses on the upper right corner. Says it on the fuse box cover too. Whenever you're at the junkyard snag a few dozen fuses and throw em in your pocket, stores want like 6$ per 5.. screw dat.
you can checkout the wiring diagrams on the CRX Manuals http://www.norcalcrx.org/library I suggest the workshop manual. Most helpful and complete

Check the fuse in position 12 under the dash. I got the EF mixed up with the EG and up. The EG constant power fuse is under the hood labeled Backup. I believe the EF is labeled Clock, Cig Lighter and something else.
And yes, either power wire not supplying voltage will cause the radio not to work. The Ignition wire (yellow/red) basically lets the radio know when to turn on and off, that's it. The Constant wire (white/blue) is the one that actually supplies the power to run the unit and keeps the memory and such as well.
