k, ive been trying for like half an hour trying to take off my damn door panel. I got the self tappers around the perimeter, and im wondering if theres anything else? Im trying to fix lock mechanism. Doesnt lock from in the inside...go figure? But, yea, is there anything special i should do to take off my door panel or jus yank the sucker out?!

 

Unscrew all the screws. Pry the bootom off and yank upwards until you get it.

 

yup...you just have to get the clips to pop out...don't baby it...it won't break

 

well if you have manual windows you gotta take out the window go down thing...theres a little bastard clip in there thats a bitch to get out...but if not the unscrew everything and just pull the bitch out...it wont break...

 

wait....what is the situation of why it won't lock from the inside?? are they power locks??

 

Oh naw, its manual locks. But when you try and lock it the lock mechanism is jus hanging there, doesnt do anything...I figured i snapped some plastic or something that holds it in place...youll have to refer to previous posts of mine.

for my lock i have to pull the handle to lock it from the inside...how that helps any...

 

i don't know if someone already said it, but there is also a screw in the door opener and in the plastic thing u use to open/close the door, and u have to get the windows handle off, just pry the clip from behind the handle and it will just come off, then you can pull it off, i would suggest that you do it gently in case you forgot a screw and you pull the panel to pieces (u need some force to pull out the clips but do them one at a time)

there are screws around the lock mechanism/handle.. you have to hold open the handle on the inside and you will see the screw..hold handle open while unscrewing.. there is also a screw on the door cup/handle (the thing u pull on to close the door..that cup)... also pop the speaker cover.. the are some screws that secure the door panels there... then the rest is all clips.. oh yeah remove the tweeter triangle piece by the side view mirror... once you undo the bottom.. kinda swing it up (like 30 degree angle) and push up... it should come right off.. this is for an EX. with power locks, windows switches, and the tweeter. dx should be similar..

 

yes.....that is what I thought! Mine is like that to...and it is supposed to be. When I first bought my car I couldn't lock the door when it was open, but I could lock it from the inside and with the key. I found out though that it wasn't broken, it is a safety mechanism, I guess so you can't lock your keys in the car.

Answer: just pull the door handle when you press the lock over

nope, I just ran out and tried it, the lock is still just hanging there. I remembered the problem happend when I actually was holding the door handle open and locking the door from the inside...so Im guessing that might be the problem.

 

well that sucks! you pulled the handle on the inside and tried to push the lock over and nothing happened?? wtf! can you lock it when the door is closed? or with the key?
