I've done it to my niece's 99 Civic SI w/ an XS engineering Kit and GT28Rs Turbo. I left the compression stock and used E-manage for the tune for her. It was a very nice, stable, and quick power setup. W/ 440cc injectors and good tuning, she was over 290whp at about 9.5-10psi on stock compression and slight timing adjustments. extremely responsive and very streetable to say the least.
did you use the t3 housing? and the .63 a/r ration.. also did she ever take it to the track.. was wondering what kind of 1/4 times she got. .

No... No drag racing.. Just wanted a more "spirited" application. As a nurse, she isn't that interested.. She may road race the car to get used to the new power, but could care less about drag.. so she'll probably never go.
