Hey whats up, I am having some issues I will be getting an 92mm crank with 14.5:1 compression pistons and 1/2inch deckplate.I will need custom rods but how will i know what size to get?Yes the compression will be around 15.5:1 now.Im looking for atleast 1.60-1.75 ratio. The pistons are Ultimates 86mm, comp height is 1.181 and 10.8 cc's.They are from Jeff over at import builders.

The first thing you have to do is get the person that is sleeving and deckplating your engine to tell you exactly what the deck height of the block will be. If you run a .750 deck plate on an ls or gsr block it will be around 9.085 give or take. If you are running a 1.181 piston and 92 mm crank you would want a rod with a c to c of about 6.090. With that the r/s would be 1.68. If you need custom rods I can get a set made in 2 weeks . Just email me at the shop if you have any more questions info@inlinepro.com

Ok what size would be better to use for a deckplate 1/2" or 3/4"?

92mm Crank
86mm Pistons 14.5:1 cr, comp height 1.181, 8cc's
Rods?What size?

Looking for r/s to be around 1.65-1.75!

if you get a 1/2 plate, you'll need a 148.2mm rod to keep the current ptdh with your 92mm crank.
that would give you 1.61 rs

if you use a .750 deck, well its already answered above.

Its easier to figure out(at least me) by just knowing the stroke+ rod lenght of the stock motor and go from there since your keeping stock compression height.
b18b= 89 crank and 137mm rod.

your using a 92mm crank so:
92-89= 3
3/2 = 1.5
137-1.5= 135.5
so if you where using stock deck height you would have to use a 135.5mm rod.
so to that 135.5 add the thickness of the plate (12.7 or 19.05mm) and that will give you rod lenght.

rod lenght divided by stroke = RS

check the rules in competitons, you cant run street classes with plates.

i would stay stok deck with the 92 crank, i had a 1/2" deckplate on my 95 stoked 2.2L lsvtec, and i think the rods were around 145 or so.

ERL Performance has a nice deck plate system. http://www.erlperformance.com

I have seen it but not used it. I am a dealer for ERL but there may be one closer to you. Dealer list at their website.
