Default Horrible noise after Tein S-Tech install!

Hi all,

i recently installed new tein s-tech springs on my EK along with my old (30k miles) Koni Yellow.
After i install everything, whenever i go over bumps or bad roads i hear this horrible clanking noise.Sounds like its coming frm the top of the shock so i rechecked every bolt and nut.
Everything is tight.I even went as far as put in the rubber thinggy sold by tein that is supposed to reduce noise.
So whats the problem here?

I had it installed by a shop. Will be going back there tomorrow to find out for sure.
Can you please show me the order the washers or bolts need to be?

Wowzers, not from the mind no.. Search the forum, not long ago somebody had a problem with the shocks too and they displayed a picture for the 100% correct order from the Honda manual.

its called Coil Snap. it is a esult of the coils hitting each other under hard compression. Tein sells a damper tube to lessen this noise. its like $5 check it out on the tein site.

I seriously doubt it's the springs, because I've got S-Techs and they are 100% perfect and quiet on my daily driver hatch.

Installer error is my guess, but exactly what it is is beyond me. This is one of those things that's nearly impossible to e-diagnose because there's too many factors.

I have a 2 finger gap all round with this combo.
I too think it's install error.Well another is going to be spent in the shop.
But at least i get to see EVO's and Skylines dyno all day.

I'd probably wind up breaking my car on purpose to go and have an excuse to watch that :D

This is also my guess. I recently installed those springs on my friends del sol and he has no problem.

I just found out someof the bushes we worn, changed those.
The rear springs is hitting so added the thinggy that Tein sells (hope that helps)
In bout 1hrs i will go take the car, hope it turns out ok.Damn noises!

Also, after buot 30-40k miles i think the Koni's need to be serviced.
Are they gas or oil type shocks?

i have more milage than that with my koni yellows, AND i hit a large block of wood on the freeway a while back, i called koni and they told me not to worry about the shocks they should still be good.
i did ask about service ont hem they said probably with shipping and all it wopuld come to around the same for servicing one shock as buying a new shock.
