House of Kolor Kandy Paint
My car is painted Kandy Blue, and I've heard they don't manufacture Kandy Colors anymore. So I'm stuck with my paintjob and all the damage I've received can't be fixed because I can't repaint anything anymore! Anyone know anything about this or know a place that sells it still?
that sucks man...

I think you can just paint the whole pannel. as long as it's painted at the same temperature and pressure you should be alrite.

It's very hard panel painting kandy . . . when a kandy car needs an entire panel repainted, it's best just to repaint the entire car. I have helped paint two seperate cars kandy (my wife's Protege5 and my brother-in-law's Tacoma) and the thing about candy is that you have to spray it from front to back with even pressure and paint flow. Any varation in the base, drying times, and actual kandy will have it looking unmatched. There's a few Expeditions rolling around NW Louisiana that have been painted like this and it's just horrible to look at . . .

candy paint is very very hard to rematch.. even if its from the same batch if its sitting and you reuse it at a later time there are a lot of variables that come into play and not allow the paint to match.
as mentioned, temperature, pressure... and hummidity as well. you can get it to match "close enough" but it will never be perffect unless the whole car is resprayed

Kandy is pretty, but it's a lot of work. My wife's Protege5 is painted a kandy purple (black basecoat with a red wine kandy) and when it's washed and waxed, it's unbeatable. You just have to be prepared to spend if you ever need repairs.
HOK still manufs Kandys. i am personally not a Kandy kind of guy
it's not THAT hard to match. as long as the same tip/technique/painter is used, it will be very close. probably so close that most people couldn't tell the difference in that panel

i have kandy on my car and just buy the over spary on the doors was more then the car because we painted them face up made them not match i did repaint the car now and the car matches fine and we did not have to paint the whole car but now i have to do some more patch work and we are going to have to do the back 1/2 of the car because i did the car seimless bumbers and skirkts

yes kandy paint jobs are almost pointless for daily driven cars.
i wouldonly paint a car that color if i lived in the boonies where there are no cars, or it was a trailor queen.
