How do you identify B series transmissions?
I tried to search but this topic is hard to search, I only found d series identification

are you saying that the d series ex tranny is the same tranny as the b16, cause there not. not even close.

I don't think that's what he ment
I think what he ment that the number around the starter that's stamped on the block b000 is that same for b series
Now for some reason I think the vin plate is the only way identify it.

no offense but that website sucks I mean the cover picture just scares me, looked at the how-tos it scared me even more.
And I don't think dohc d series from 90-91 uses b series tranny.
I need other way to identify the tranny (something like a code)
