Default Need heat, its cold outside

My heat is slightly less than warm, and its cold outside.
I checked the valve under the hood by the firewall, and touched all the hoses leading in and out of the heater, everything is hot, but the return hose to the motor is only warm.
Any ideas why my heat is not hot.
thnx

I would check the heater core.

you could also maybe check the thermostat plug maybe that some how got unplugged or got messed up and is not allowing the heater to get warmed up as much. The plug will be right under the distributor. Another thing that happened to me once in my del sol is that the wire that attaches to the heat selector on the control panel came off of the hook under the dash, so when i pulled the heat selector to hot it didnt move the valve to open the heat as far as it should have. Id check those two things good luck

The valve hand in mine was simply misadjusted. A 30 second job of taking it off and putting it back on correctly did the job.

The heat **** works, I turn it and the valve opens and closes. The coolent entering the heater core through the firewall is hot just like the radiator hoses. The air blowing is warm but not hot like I expect it, kinda like my prelude where it gets hot fast and its HOT. The coolent return hose fom the core is warm and doesnt burn my hand when holding onto it. This is a 99 ex. Does your cars get hot like an oven or warm like a house?

Sounds like a clogged heater core to me. Try getting the coolant system flushed, if that doesn't fix it replace the heater core.

I 2nd the clogged heater core. My problem was the air would not get COLD, but the principle I speak of is the same. The valve was going from open to open. My car gets hot as an oven. Now I get cold air (not a problem now, just wanted to get a jumpstart on it for summer).
