also i live in North Carolina and while it does seem like a southern unpopulated state (which it is) they have some of the most strict inspection codes and driving laws. next to like cali. or something

my bad. it's an obd2 as long as you have the right ecu. nc inspection is only hook up your car into the obd2 plug and check your car for ready codes, emission parts, and safety like tires, lights, horn...ect no exhaust test.
yeah no exhaust test but the computer goes to a system in raleigh and all of this other crap and the last time i got my car inspected i thought i saw the computer htey were using pull the VIN number up all on it's own, they could have gotten from the scanner they used to scan my old inspection sticker in my window... I just thought about that.

I ran into a small problem with this. My EG coupe has a 2nd Gen JDM B16A, definitely a different ECU from the stock P28. When we tried to hook it up to Honda DataLink the computer couldn't communicate with the ECU. We tried almost everything. But without the actual VIN the ECU came with your FUCKED!!! And it sucks cause data link is so cool. Anyone got a P30 ECU they know the VIN from?
