Default just received my gcs today... what are these?

so the big black rubber thing on top of the gc is the rubber insulator right? are the skinny/fat rubber rings bumpstops?... cuz i read from some ppl that new gcs should come with bumpstops... so im not sure... they dont look like em tho... and my tokico blues didnt come with anything... and theres a rubber tube inside the wrapped spring perch n sleeve... so whats the deal? thanx guys... oh yah n btw... if i do have to reuse my oem bumpstops from my 4th gen... do i just reuse the whole thing or do i needa trim it? planning to leave a 1 or 2 finger gap so its not gonna be slammed... will i be riding on the bumpstops if i dont plan on cutting them? and also all 4 springs are the same length... cept 2 came with shorter sleeves which i assume are for the rears... does it matter if all 4 springs are same size? thanx alot guys

IIRC, those little rubber ring things go on the shock body between the shock and the coilover sleeves.

did the kit come with instructions? you're supposed to re use the stock bumpstops... but trim them shorter.

k cool... gotcha... ill trim them bumpstops... was just double checking... and about the rubber rings... im guessing those would be the o-rings as indicated in the pictures that came with the springs? there are 8 of the large and 8 of the skinny... so i use 2 large 2 skinny per spring inside the rubber sleeve right? is that how it works? ... thanx for the input guys

basically, the point of those rubber rings and rubber sleeve is so that the metal threaded sleeve that the spring sits on... doesn't move as much.

cool thanx... so basically the o rings slide over the shock body first... then you slide the metal threaded sleeve over the o rings yah? instructions say to put o rings on... then put the split rubber sleeve over the o rings... but theres no way the metal threaded sleeve can slide over that... it can only fit over the skinny o rings but it still moves around a little bit... is that ok?

I would try forcing the sleeve over the bigger o-rings first to make sure you aren't supposed to use them. Don't worry about messing them up, b/c if they aren't fitting, they're useless to you anyways.

that big fat rubber circle above the spring is the bumpstop and since they came with the kit, use those and dont trim the stock

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PreLuDeSiR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">that big fat rubber circle above the spring is the bumpstop and since they came with the kit, use those and dont trim the stock</TD></TR></TABLE>

That circle is NOT the bump stop it is an insulator which sits in the upper shock mount. You must trim the stock bump stops.
